 Faucaria tuberculosa

Faucaria Tuberculosa in bloom. To the left it shows the Faucaria tigrina.

The Faucarias are original from South of Africa. They form dense groups with reduced stems and very fleshy leaves. They grow with enough vigor and in few years we can have a small colony that will delight us with profuse flowerings, mainly at the end of the summer and beginnings of the autumn, although they can bloom intermittently throughout all the year.

They can vegetate in full sun or in situation of semi-shade. Irrigation should be generous during the time of activity and moderate watering the rest of the year, even some occasional one in winter. Some Faucarias develops thick roots reason why it is advisable to use some fungicida from time to time not to have problems. Without fertilizar and in substratum with good drainage to prevent flooding.  It is a plant of easy culture.
