Agavaceae Family

 Agave attenuata

Origin:  Mexico, Jalisco. It grows to a great extent in the wild of Australia. The name “Agave” comes from the Greek and means “admirable”. The A. attenuata makes honor to the name of its genus.

Plant Description:  Composed of 30 leaves that form an ample rosette of up to 1 m of diameter. The leaves of about 80 cm in length when they are adult, with a bluish greenish color, are fine and velvet, without presence of thorns or stings.


Depending on the light they vary the tones of its leaves

Flowers:  Gorgeous floral tube of up to 4 ms of height, with flowers of about 8 cm in length and yellow. After the flowering the plant dies, but it emits numerous shoots from the base and the inflorescence.

Growth:  Vigorous.

Culture:  Ph 6.  Full sun.  Generous irrigations in summer. Delicate plants with low temperatures. The frosts produce burns to them and with a certain intensity can kill the plants.
