Harri Poom crossed two Astrophytum asterias cv Super Kabuto of different origins in 2003. He obtained one hundred seeds. He planted them, and, when they acquired a diameter of 0.5 cm, he grafted on different and powerful stocks of pereiskiopsis spp. The mixture of the genetic information of both clones along with the influence of the stock gave rise to peculiar forms.
