Hylocereus undatus (Haworth) Britt. & Rose |
Its culture does not present great problems. Due to their epiphytic character, it needs some support to fix their aerial roots and to take height.
They need a substratum acid and richer than the average of cacti and prefer the Ph around 5,5-6. A soil of chestnut tree is excellent for them.
It needs generous irrigations at the time of growth and is advisable to avoid the low temperatures and frosts that burn their stems and disfigure them. In dry they can resist some cold without problems.
Although they can resist direct sun, they prefer situations with high luminosity and something of shade. If exposed to full sun in summer, it needs daily irrigations to avoid the dehydration. |
