Synonyms: Echinocactus corniger
Origin: Mexico (Oaxaca)
Plant Description: Circular and flattened, small Ferocactus, 40 cm of diameter and 25 cm high.
Flowers: It starts blooming when the plant has only a diameter of 12 cm. The flowers are of 4 cm of diameter and color pink-purple. Growth: Slow. Culture: Ph 6. Problematic if the temperature goes below 5° with high humidity during the winter rest. Even adult specimens are affected by wounded spots in his epidermis. Less watering than the standard for other ferocacti. Phytosanitary Cares: Preventive treatments with fungicides. He is prone to undergo attacks of red spider if it is placed near of fruit trees.
Other Information: In its habitat it passes the dry periods almost buried in the ground, reason why it is very difficult to locate the cactus until the rains arrive and the cactus swells itself and prepares to bloom.
