   Espostoa guentheri:

Origin:  Bolivia, Chuquisaca, Río Grande, El Oro.

Synonyms:  Vatricania guentheri.

 

Growth:  Vigorous.

Plant Description:  Columnar form, of about 2.5 ms of height, branching from the base and inferior zone of the stem. About 10 cm of diameter with 27 ribs with areolas and spines that provide a yellow golden aspect to the cactus.

 

Flowers:  They are born in a dense lateral cephalium that the plant develops with the age in the superior part of the stem of straw yellow color. They have form of tube, 8 cm in length by 6 cm of diameter, pink color.

Culture:  Ph 6.  Irrigation without excesses and in substratum with good drainage. Total sun to harness its attractive spines. It reacts well with occasional fertilizing during the growth of formula 6-6-6. The frosts along with a high humidity produce wounds to him during winter.

Phytosanitary Cares:  Preventive treatments with fungicides to prevent the damages by the cold in winter.
